Fire Safety in the Workplace

Everyone has a fear of fire and it can strike at anytime, anywhere in your home or your business when you least expect it. All businesses are required to have powder fire extinguishers on the premises. All employees should be shown where they are located and how to use them. Your local fire department will be glad to send someone to have a class and demonstrate how to operate on and the correct way to put out a fire. Extinguishers should be checked yearly to maintain usability there is a gauge located on each that will show you if they need charged. All locations in a business that have a small powder fire extinguisher should be noted to employees for easy access in case of a fire. Know the locations of all fire exits and above all have a plan in case a fire does strike.
