Fire safety for children is not necessarily only about teaching them to stay away from fire: there are other ways in which children may be harmed by hot or heated elements. Scalds and burns occur when a person gets near enough to a hot item, just as they would if that person was near a fire. Children, especially , have to be looked out for when they are near these dangers, as they are not as quick to understand what is going on. Hot drinks or hot water, is a major cause of scalding with children. Hot cocoa, or tea or even hot baby formula can cause some harm to a child. Always test the temperature of a drink before passing it on to a child and avoid handling hot drinks around them. Try not to drink hot things while handling a baby or young child. Scalding can occur during bath time too. Everyone loves a hot bath, including children. Carefully test the water temperature by yourself and teach your child to test the waters for themselves. Adults are more acclimatized to higher water temperatures, and what seems fine for an adult, may not be good for a child. Earlier, we mentioned hot elements, and while some may think of pans and hot spoons, they may not remember other ordinary household tools such as curling irons or glue guns. Keep those out of reach and teach your children early to leave those things alone, whether on or off.

I once met this strange guy. I met him at a club and he seemed really nice. We had a lot in common. Well so I thought. He told me he worked for a large company and often wore one of this colorful fire marshall jackets. At times he used to meet me wearing one, particularly after work. I happened to meet a person from his so called workplace and said they had never heard of him. I questioned him about this and he finally told me the truth. He had lost his job two years ago and wanted to be working. I found this a little hard to take and thought I would leave him to it.

The other day, i was walking through Wal-mart with my son and my fiance’, looking for patio furniture. When we were in the out door department, we noticed the differences between the cheap outdoor products and the expensive ones. The more expensive products were for the most part safer than the cheap ones. We noticed a rope ladder fire escape that was $99.99 and an odd shaped, heavy, extendable ladder was $29.99. Me and my fiance’ made a joke about that if we had to jump off the fire escape in case of a fire, we have to have more money if we wanted to remain injury free. I thought to myself… Why can’t good products be as inexpensive as the cheap stuff? Sometimes the cost to make it is almost 10 times less than what we pay for it. In my opinion, it’s almost like saying, “because you’re less fortunate, you can’t enjoy the better things in life.

I used to hate lunchtime at work. I often did not have anyone to have lunch with. Most of the time I used to bring my own food and sit at the rear of the black. I found myself leaning against the fire hose spare which was quite comfortable. Once I was rudely interrupted as this man demanded access to the equipment. I was really comfortable and did not want to move but had no option. I quickly got up and discovered they moving the fire hose. It was going to be indoors, inside the stairwell. Great. I will have to find a new spot.

My mother has a lot of valuables that were recently stolen from her upscale home in a good neighborhood. I was mad and angry that this could happen to her.
