This past weekend was a sad one. I had to say goodbye to my girlfriend as she was leaving to go study abroad. It was a very emotional time as we will have to go for several months without seeing each other. However, that was the end of the weekend. The days previous, were much more lighthearted. My girlfriend and I went to the zoo, even though it was cold out. It was worth it, as there weren’t nearly as many people there as in the summertime which was nice. All in all, it was a pretty good weekend. I wouldn’t trade it.

If I could change one thing about the world, I would change the length of a week. As a culture, Americans are incredibly stressed out. We’re constantly working, often more than 40 hours a week at jobs that most of us don’t even enjoy doing. People who are overworked are under a lot of stress, and they take that stress out on the people around them. I am convinced that if people had a longer weekend, people would be a lot happier. That is more time to do the things to actually enjoy. More time to spend with the people you love. Fewer poorly thought out, rushed decisions.

My favorite music is classical music. That isn’t to say that I don’t like more modern rock and some rap. I do like all those too, but I always come back to classical music. I find it peaceful, exciting, and exceedingly complex. The ways that different tones from oboes and violins and trumpets meld together into this beautiful tapestry of sound is amazing. I am really amazed at the talent involved in the creation of beautiful symphonies. My least favorite kind of music is Electronic music. It’s possible that I just don’t understand it well enough, but I find it to be far too repetitive to be enjoyable.

The farthest from home that I have ever traveled was to Germany. I am from Pennsylvania, USA so central Europe was quite a trip. I went because I love German culture, German food, and the German language. It was excited to be able to practice my abilities as a German speaker, while taking in all the breathtaking architecture and sights. Many of the buildings in cities like Berlin or Munich are older than the United States itself, so it is really neat to be able to stand inside of them and appreciate the intricate details in their design.

If I had to choose a single store for a $1000 shopping spree, it’d probably have to be the Lego store. Lego stores are found in many malls, and sell Lego sets. Lego is one of the greatest toys in the world, allowing unlimited creativity for all ages. There is little more satisfying than snapping the final piece into place in your very own Lego creation. $1000 at a Lego store would afford a vast number of pieces moving any large Lego project well within anyone’s reach. Imagine wanting to build a Lego Empire State building, and knowing that you had the Lego capital to achieve it. That is true joy.

I have had a fair number of jobs in my life. I’ve worked backstage at a theatre. I worked for a while at an engineering firm. I even worked in a warehouse, hauling boxes in and out of trucks. None of those jobs compare to my favorite job though. When I was younger, my first job was delivering newspapers. I would wake up early in the morning and go out, walking up and down the streets silently dropping newspapers at peoples’ front doors. The quiet serenity of being the only person outside in the cool of the morning really was something special.

If I weregiven the opportunity, my dream vacation would probably be in Alaska in the Summer. Watching the wild animals roam free, and the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets would just take my breath away. Nowhere in the United States is there a wilderness experience quite like what is available in Alaska. While there, I could go on a cruise and go whale watching. That would truly be a once in a lifetime experience. At night, the sky would light up with the aurora borealis, one of nature’s most beautiful creations, while millions of stars shine down from the clear night sky.

There is only one thing about me that only my parents and my husband know about me. My huge secret is that my middle name only has two letters in it. My middle name is Jo. Although it only has two letters in it, and its not that big of a deal, many people can never guess it right. I never tell anyone my middle name because its something I let people wonder about to make them think what kind of name has only two letters. I had one girl I went to school with geuss for a week and she never did get it right ?

I love going shopping and would enjoy it even more if its not my money Im spending. If I were lucky enough to spend a $1000 at any one store it would be Abercrombie & Fitch.Thats easily my favorite store to shop at because I love their style of clothing and it fits me to a tee. I can get everything I want there and would be very satisfied with the quality of merchandise I picked up. It wouldn’t matter if it’s a simple pair of underwear or an expensive and luxurious leather jacket. I can also get any accessories id need to pair with my outfit. They also have a great scent that seems to do well in attracting the women out there. So all in all, they would provide me with everything Id need and the shopping experience there has never let me down.

I havent had too many experinces in the work force. The few I have had, have been very memorable. My first job was as a valet at a downtown San Francisco attraction. I worked there for two summers during my high school years. I loved that job because I got to drive all kinds of expensive and exitic cars. I also got to meet and greet a lot of celebs along the way. The second and my current job are as a Flight Engineer in the US NAVY. I have been doing that job for 5 years now. I have gotten to travel the world and enjoy many of the treats that are out there. I have also seen combat in Iraq and worked on many counter drug missions in the Caribbean. Its my favorite job of the two because of the resposibilty that I have and the adrenaline rush that I get from doing it. There have been many long but exciting hours at this job. I look forward to doing it for another few years at least.
