Lots to do in Colorado.

Posted on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 at 1:05 am

When I first moved to Colorado, I didn’t think it was all that great of a place. Despite having the Rocky Mountains, it’s pretty flat here. Little did I know though the vast wealth of things there are to do here. You can literally see every different climate here. You can hike through sand dunes, or you can snow shoe in the mountains. You can float down a river, or run a marathon. Along with the outdoors part of Colorado, there is no shortage of restaurants and breweries here, so there’s always some place new. If outdoors or dining aren’t your thing, how about a baseball, football, basketball, or hockey game? We have it all!

Graduate

I graduated from college and decided it was time to grow up.  I look young anyway and I’m tired of people thinking I’m sixteen!  I got a job working in an office, so my wardrobe consists of many mix-and-match blouses and skirts.  I like cap sleeve button-up blouses and knee length A-line skirts.  These kinds of clothes work really well on my figure.  I dislike wearing long pants during the summer because it’s so hot where I live.  Even though I’m 5’10”, I still like to wear high heels.  I don’t have a boyfriend who’s shorter than me.  When you’re this tall, what are a few more inches?

I like to use Gmail

Posted on Saturday, August 28th, 2010 at 8:50 am

The first reason that I like Gmail is because of the convenient Google features attached with it.  I can click on a tab at the top to look at maps and it is easy to share documents.  I can send a page to my work colleague for her to edit quickly.  The format is easy to use and not cluttered with ads and “news” items about celebrities.  A lot of my friends have Gmail, so I can chat with them on Google chat.  It is by far the best email service I’ve used.

Jeremy

Posted on Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 at 7:47 am

When I was in high school, I met Jeremy. We hit it off and made plans to go out. We drove to a museum 30 minutes away only to discover that it was closed. There was a lake in the park next to the museum so we went for a walk. When we got the farthest possible distance from the car, it started pouring down rain.  We got back to the car and were soaking wet. He turned on the car heater and we dried out on the way to the mall where we planned to have dinner.  After eating my Subway turkey sandwich, my stomach felt a little funny. On the ride home I kept farting and belching. I could feel the diarrhea coming on and was praying that I would make it home.

Met Laura

SINGAPORE - NOVEMBER 14: U.S. State Secretary...

When I met Laura for the first time at the Singapore airport it took me about 2 seconds to know we’d be good friends.  During our first few weeks in Papua New Guinea, in close quarters near Madang, I watched her handle the stress of cross cultural living.  Laura mixes a deep faith in God with a decidedly wicked sense of humor.  While I slogged through the mud, fought malaria and missed home, we would often get together to pray and laugh until our stomachs hurt.  Laura is one of the most solid people that I know.  I think it comes from her genuine love of truth and her desire to be authentic.

My Mom and I are on a family plan

Posted on Monday, August 16th, 2010 at 5:45 am

She lives in a small town in Pennsylvania where the only available coverage is Sprint (Nextel).  It’s cheaper for her to share minutes with me instead of getting a whole new plan for me.  My brother, a soldier, is also on the plan but hardly uses any minutes.  Since I moved to rural Mississippi, my phone has constantly been on roaming and the reception stinks.  If I want to talk I have to go stand out in the yard.  I’ve been doing a lot more text messaging than I did before.  I feel limited by my cell phone plan, but being on a family plan is much more affordable.

This week was really busy for me

Posted on Wednesday, August 11th, 2010 at 4:43 am

My Mom came to visit me and brought some furniture that she’d been keeping in the basement.  I have a marble-topped end table that belonged to my grandmother.  Mom helped make my house look like a home.  I worked a little at the office, but it was by myself and it was hard to concentrate with only myself to answer the phone.  Leonard’s mother was in a car accident and we were all concerned about her.  She’s okay, just a little shaken up.  I met Kristen and Randy at the theatre to watch “Eclipse.”  They were good sports about seeing it again.

Preserving wild Cats

Posted on Sunday, August 8th, 2010 at 3:42 am

I am lover of animals and love to visit all the sanctuaries of the world. But it is sad to see certain species of animals becoming extinct, especially the Tigers. They are such wonderful animals that their extinction will make the world depleted of one of the marvelous species. While every effort is being made to protect the already dwindling number of tigers alive, I feel the need to protect these animals should be advertised even more widely and any form of human intrusion into tiger reserves, should be dealt with severely. Saving animals can be achieved only by a collective attempt by one and all. Poachers should be punished and human encroachments into the animals’ habitats should be banned. That is the only way to protect all those amazing creations of God.

My fantasy co-diners

Aishwarya Rai was the 1994 miss world.

I am quite a friendly person and I love mankind in general. But if I were to be given a chance to pick three people with whom I would love to dine with, it will certainly be Jayalalitha, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, India, Aishwariya Rai, former Miss Universe and popular movie star and Saina Nehwal, current world No2 Badminton player.

I simply adore Jayalalitha, as she has achieved what many women only dream of. She was one of the top heroines of the Tamil film industry in her younger days, before venturing into politics and reaching the pinnacle within a short time. Aishwarya Rai is a world-renowned beauty and she has sone India proud ever since she won the coveted Miss Universe title. Saina is a young girl who has made every Indian proud by becoming the No.2 badminton player in the world.

Chinese noodles and grape juice

Posted on Monday, August 2nd, 2010 at 1:39 am

I simply love Chinese food and especially the Chinese noodles with mixed meat. Though I am not a great cook otherwise, I find making Chinese noodles comparatively an easy task. Even when I go out for dinner with my family or with friends, I prefer going to Chinese restaurants, whenever possible. I find Chinese food very light and does not make you feel heavy after the meal. And I am a lover of grape juice. Even at home, I have stacked a few crates of grape juice, made from pure grapes, with no additives. Though I am a lover of food, I also try to maintain my weight and my all-time favorite, Chinese helps me to stay light and healthy.
