I think I would consider my greatest achievement to be

Posted on Thursday, July 28th, 2011 at 3:50 pm

learning English in the time that I did. Although I have done some things in my life that I should be more proud of, I think learning a new language as quickly as I did is pretty mind-blowing. I spoke fluent French for the first 5-6 years of my life and didn’t know a word of English. When I moved to the U.S., I had to learn English before I attended kindergarten in the fall. I had a private tutor but I managed to be able to hold a conversation pretty well by the end of the summer.

A whale

If I had to live underwater for 2 years, I would probably choose to become a whale because of their gentleness and size. I think being a creature of that size would be a lot of fun and there would not be a large amount of threats against your life. Food would also be readily available because of the amount of plankton in the sea and swimming would be a piece of cake. Whales also have an interesting form of communication so I think it would be interesting to see what they talk about and share with their fellow whales.

Not all fire extinguishers are suitable for any given fire

Posted on Monday, July 25th, 2011 at 8:11 am

The source of the fire has a bearing on the most appropriate methods of tackling it; water-based extinguishers may be useful for dealing with burning materials such as fabric and wood but are unsuitable for tackling burning gasses, liquids or electrical fires. When thinking of fire safety, it is therefore important to make sure that the appropriate types of class C fire extinguishers are available for the most likely types of fire in any given home or work environment. A range of fire extinguishers that use foam, powder, CO2 or pressurized water are therefore available to deal with the most common types of fires that people are likely to encounter.

Cloud and golden gates

Posted on Thursday, July 21st, 2011 at 3:48 pm

My idea of a heaven follows a very cliché image of cloud and golden gates. Across an infinite level of clouds, there would be all the people and things that have ever existed and they would be walking around with friends or family. Otherwise, they’d be engaging in conversation with random people, as everyone would be social. There would be an infinite amount of things to do because anything you wanted could be produced from a cloud held in your hand and molded into the shape of that object. It would always be daylight and there would not be any contact with the outside world of heaven (as in Earth or other planets).

I have my best friend who has been there for me since 15 years now. We have been open and honest to each other right from the start and we get those issues out of the way as they rise. Because of our mutual trust and honesty with each other we do not have to worry about being upset at what the other says. We talk to each openly and have no secrets and we are able to suggest and recommend whatever is necessary to keep our bonding strong. We did have a lot of tiffs earlier and our egos clashed whenever either of us pointed out things but now at our age we can have those kinds of conversations and laugh about it. That’s why we have remained friends for so long.

I was a victim to peer pressure

Posted on Friday, July 15th, 2011 at 3:47 pm

I was a victim to peer pressure when I was in my late teens. During a party I had been forced to try liquor to which I succumbed to for about the next 15 years of my life. I became an alcoholic and could not think straight without having a peg or maybe two. I had lost my confidence to live and hated myself to glory. It was not long before I took shelter under a rehab and found myself getting out of self-created miseries. I am one happy person living a sober life one day at a time since the last 6 years.

If I had to choose three of my best dishes which I could eat for the rest of my life then I would choose roasted chicken, pizzas and Italian pasta and bean & cheese. All these items are good enough as far as fat, protein and nutrition are concerned. Obviously I would also exercise a lot to shed the fat which I would eventually gain by eating only these items. I also believe I would die of starvation since one cannot eat the same items for a life time. The monotony would kill me more than hunger so God help me.

Kennedy Space Centre

Posted on Thursday, July 7th, 2011 at 3:45 pm

The most beautiful image I have ever seen was when I was at the Kennedy Space Centre in the IMAX theatre. I was seated up at the back of the theatre and there was nothing between me and my view of the screen. I was watching high definition footage shot of the Earth spinning in space. The IMAX screen was huge and I had seen nothing like it in my life. I think it was close to five stories high and watching the Earth spinning beneath me was the most beautiful and awesome sight I have ever seen and it actually  brought me to tears.

Fire Prevention Tips

There is a chance to some places get accident in the form of water, electricity, or fire. We should careful when involving based on these types of works. Generally everyone in home, shops or any big places they should provide fire safety equipments which will give a speed remedy on accident time. Mostly the leakage of electricity causes fire in public places or private. Fire hose is one of the best things to have in every place when fire occurs. This is a high pressure fire hose used to carry water or other fire retardant. It looks small and can be fix it in the wall also. Keep having fire hose in places which have possibility of fire accidents. I have a small one in my home.

I have a lot of dreams which I believe I only can fulfill if I win a lottery. But I also wonder what would I do with so much money when my basic needs are though fulfilled. Here are some things I have on my mind; Travel a lot, go on outdoor adventures, buy a nice house, save a lot for my kids, etc. The thing I ask myself is that if these are the things that would make me happy, what’s stopping me from doing them right now? The answer is that nothing is stopping me. I don’t need to wait to win the lottery. In fact, I’m already doing all these things to one degree or another. I would give a lot to charity and get involved in philanthropic activities big time. Sharing your wealth with others who really need it sounds like the best idea to me.
